And before that, he had all these lighthearted plans. I think that's enough to say he went off the deep end for a while.

Although it's weird for me to think of Kinkotsuman as an abusive parent, since he's really one of these ineffectual harmless villains. (And later one of Kinnikuman's cheerleaders pretty much.)
