The KDC200i and 300i can connect via Bluetooth HID to the iPad and iPhone or iPod with iOS 4 or later.
This video demonstrates pairing a KDC200i Bluetooth scanner with an iPhone. (The same setup also applies to the KDC300i).
First confirm that Bluetooth is enabled on the iPhone under the Settings menu.Open the menu on the Bluetooth scanner by pressing both menu buttons on the side simultaneously. Use the up and down buttons on the side of the scanner to navigate the menu.
Go to the "BT Config" menu and press the scan button, then select the "ConnectDevice" option and insure "HID" is selected by highlighting HID, pressing the scan button, then select "Save & Exit" to return to the previous menu. Now go to the "HID Toggle" menu option make sure it is Enabled, "Save & Exit" and go to the "Top Menu".
Now go to the "BT Service" option. (Please note the next steps must be done rapidly as the iPhone has a very small time window to enter the Bluetooth PIN code)
Highlight the "Pairing" option when you press the scan button you should see "Pairing Started" on the scanner display. The iPhone should then show the Bluetooth scanner, tap the scanner and you should see a prompt on the iPhone showing a 4 digit Bluetooth PIN code to enter on the scanner. On the scanner you will see "6 chars" use the down button two times to change this to "4 chars" then press the scan button, so now you will see 4 digits which all default to the number 5. Quickly use the up/down buttons on the side of the scanner to match the numbers on the scanner to the numbers on the iPhone display pressing the scan button after matching each digit to move to the next digit. After all 4 digits are matched press and hold the scan button for 3 seconds and release. The scanner should then show "Pairing succeeded" then "HID connected" as the iPhone and scanner connect.
Now you can scan barcode data into any application on the iPhone.
To disconnect the scanner from the iPhone simply scan the "Bluetooth Off" control barcode available on Serialio.com. To reconnect hold down the scan button until the scanner says "Please wait" and the Bluetooth scanner should then reconnect to the iPhone.
