A very quick introduction into how to tie dye.
Showing and explaining the easiest patterns, the equipment, the spin, the dye applying... and a few hints and ideas for easy following at any level of experience.

(I screwed up the sound on this, eliminating my speaking... so this is all music. I will upload a speaking version, as that will give more instruction... detail to follow).

    Thanks!

Check out FaceBook's "Addicted To Tie Dying" to see some amazing dye work... beyond amazing.

  • at 2:48, how would I make the dye it order to make it look like that?

  • @Kirsten69yo

    The spin starts at 1:24

Probably the 2:04 is the dye apply...

  • the shirt at 2:49 is that one of the ones you made in the video? if it was one, can you tell me which one out of the four it was? thanks :)

  • @Starrykid101

    That is a corrner burst.

Just grabbed on the end side and spun round then dyed like a spiral.

  • 2:48 wow that shirt is gorgeous

  • @TinCan916

    Yes! Shoes too...

There are some great dyed sock pictures on the FaceBook page.

You have to use a seperate bottle, but mixing can also create amazing new colour.

I prefer to mix right on the material with overlap...

  • Can this be done with socks? And each color you're doing has to be in a seperate bottle right?

  • @joaocamilooo

These are Procion MX dyes... not sure if I had mixed the colors or just used them straight as supplied...

  • what combination of tint are these ?
