THIS is the REASON people tend to condemn Michelle or put her down...its because of commentators like Dick Button who always seem to favor her by putting down other skaters or comparing them with Michelle....people get pissed by all the attention Michelle gets!!!

I'm Canadian so I watch CBC and they're fine, but the Americans have always been so bias it's ridiculous. I love Slutskaya, just because she's not balletic doesn't mean she's not artistic. She is athletic and passionate, and has artistry in her exuberance and energy. I wish they'd stop the constant comparisons, I love Kwan her style isn't the only style out there to use.

Whatever the commentators "commented" irina's performance, I still think that she did a great job.

I couldn't agree more! That's the problem with most N.American commentators, they have a negative attitude and try to telegraph any possible flaw, ruining the beauty of a program. Plus, they're just not capable of saying something entirely nice about non-American skaters: "It was good, BUT blah, blah, blah"! I'd rather watch Eurosport or mute the commentary. After all, figure skating is an artistic sport. Listening to Dick Button whining has nothing to do with artistry whatsoever.

I fucking hate peggy flemming and ESPECIALLY dick button. I can't watch american broadcasts. They SHRED anyone who isn't Michelle Kwan, ESPECIALLY Irina. even the compliments are back handed or are an excuse to bring up a "past flaw" i.e. "that Biellmann is much better than when she used to struggle to make a spin out of it" "I like this program more than the other terrible programs she's had" "in practice you wouldn't know she had any emotion it's good to see i guess."

Dick was unfairly critical of her spirals. They weren't the best, but they were still very good, and a big improvement for her. At least they gave her credit for her better artistic efforts here.
