  • does every powerbook have the light keyboard?

  • @sahab999 it depends on the model

The easiest way to check should be the three backlit keys F8 (shout down the backlit) F9 (less backlit) F10 (more backlit).

If these keys ain't on your keyboard, you don't have backlit.

  • with the shift key it has that little bar that gos through holes first, i cant get ine to go on... :(

  • @deckarx Just check my Video for MBP, there are more keys shown

  • this helped my so much but do you think you could make a video on how to replace a arrow key

  • Arrow keys similar to the F3 key at the beginning of the video.

  • Thanks for this video

  • is backlight realy important ? i have my first mac ( macbook white 2009 ) but it doesn´t have it , i have a little usb light that light´s up the keyboard but the edges get dark ,

  • thanx. there was some pebble under my key. somehow.

  • Would I be able to buy another one of those join things? Maybe from a Local Mac Depot (Dayton,Oh)? And if I do buy a new one would it then work just as you showed??? Thanks again :)

  • Hi there! I want to thank you for making this video. I do however have a question. I have a Powerbook G4 12 inch...and my home/left arrow key came off... not sure how I think my text book hit it.. anyways it came off WITH the white joint thing attached to it. They were not separate pieces like you show on your video, Why would this be? My boyfriend, after watching this video tried to remove the white part from the key...and the white part broke. He tried to still make it work but no luck.

  • Thanks a lot!!

Just to add: The apple key has three parts, in case these all come a part -- assemble the 2 plastic latches first (both snap into each other like a lever/pivot), then place them inside the key compartment (flat surface up) then finally now align the apple key correctly then press "gently" till you hear a snap!. If no snap you are no the wrong track.

I didn't realize this and nearly broke the 2 levers that would've been disaster.
