  • for4speech, get over yourself you self-righteous prick. If someone wants to spend THEIR money on a replica, then wtf your problem with it?

  • Doesn't "fake replica" mean the same thing as "genuine?" Sorry but I couldn't resist. Despite that, I am in agreement. This is NOT the original batmobile. It is NOT one of the 4 recreations that George Barris made in his shop either. To me, those are the only cars that could generate a 6-figure price tag. The car they auctioned is nice but not $150,000 nice.

  • Batman looks a little short...

  • @jpatt1000 The stunt cars were all fiberglas copies built on the frames '66 Ford Galaxies.

  • Kick Ass!

  • @jpatt1000 That is it!!! You the man!! Have to look that one up. Thanks!!!

  • @butterp7 Just found it! The movie was called It Started With a Kiss. Search Lincoln Futura and you'll find it. Also has some nice clips of a Lockheed Constellation and a 300SL roadster!

  • @butterp7 Yeah, the original car was the Lincoln Futura concept/show car. I don't know if the original Batmobile was built from that car itself, but I'm thinking Barris pulled a mold off of it to make the Batmobile from, because they actually had five cars built for the show. I haven't seen a picture of the Futura in a while, but I remember it was a really cool metallic light blue. I'll have to find out the name of the movie it was in!

  • @jpatt1000 There's a movie that came out in 1966 that has this car in it before it was the Batmobile. It has the large double windshield and is the same length as the car. I can't remember the name of the movie (Affair to remember or Holiday in Rome or something like that. But if you look at that car you can see that it was the car the Batmobile was crafted from.

  • Don't overlook the fact that someone took a fiberglass body, with large flat surfaces everywhere, and painted it black! The finish looks fantastic! I wonder how much time and effort were expended on the body prep!

  • @Darinlover89 The original, yes, but I think this replica was made from a Chevy. Or it could be like you said and they messed up the info.

  • for you idiots, that dont get it ,this is a RECREATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
