Kevin Nurse was a Culinary Arts student at The Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, who received a heart transplant. What makes Kevin's story so captivating is his passion for life, family and cooking. And the amazing coincidence that the donor of his heart was in fact, a chef. Kevin Nurse's story is one of inspiration, love, and perseverance both in and out of the kitchen. In 2010, ICE learned of Kevin's passing and created the ICE Kevin Nurse Memorial Scholarship in his honor. For more information about his incredible story and the scholarship, go to http://blog.iceculinary.com/2010/12/17/ice-announces-the-kevin-nurse-memorial...

  • I went to Junior High with Kevin. This is very sad news. My condolences go out to his entire family. He was a very cool kid in Junior High. I haven't had any contact with him in 20 years, but I still feel very sad. My best wishes go out to his family.

  • Daniel - or as he was known to us "Big Mo", short for Big Mohican b/c of his large stature - was an amazing and wonderful friend who was taken too soon. However, after hearing so much about you and finally seeing this video it is easy to see that he really is able to live on through you. I'm at a loss for words, but know that your story really does touch the hearts that still break for our dear friend. My husband and I hope someday to be able to meet you and share our stories with you. -Sara
