I rather suspect that part of the trick that allows them to run and dance and still play isn't violin skills at all (although they are clearly skilled players). They probably practice DANCING quite a bit too, with an eye to minimizing the shocks it generates.
You're missing some of the most exciting music ever msymme. People have been watching fiddle players run and dance for hundreds of years - and it's strange you don' know that. As to abilities, again, read Mairead Nesbitt's bio. She is a third generation Celtic fiddler that studied classical violin under Emanuel Hurwitz at the Royal Academy of Music. After finishing grad school she played with the RTE Orchestra. She knows what she is doing. I'm sure you have a bio I can check.
And the fourth possibility is that you don't know so much about these violonists. Sorry, msymme, but you can't speak about them on this way. They played live, and they played very well. I love their music like a love the Celts. If you don't appreciate THAT, you must have only a bit of respect.
I can't say more because I'm not english, but I want you to understand that . . .
