@mrhappytuzi this was true 10-15 years ago. Now it really is the other way around though. The evo10 is using a block that was designed by Hyundai when in the old days most good Korean cars were using Mitsubishi blocks. To be honest though, I don't care much for Mitsubishi's reliability so no big loss here.

if you own a civic you know that most civic owners that race a civic will go through an average of 2-3 engines in its life span, their engines are easy accessible from japan, since they send alot of used low mileage motors to the usa. hyundai has execellent reliability in their motors, but korea does not send us any used motors like japan does since they use alot of 1.6 and 2.0 diesel power motors, and they dont have a law like japan where they swap the engine out at 30,000 miles.
