This project is designed for 8th graders who are currently taking Georgia History. It primarily targets students who are struggling to grasp Social Studies concepts and are interested in learning via gaming and social networking sites (i.e. Twitter, Youtube and blogging). It is hypothesized that the target audience will be comfortable with using technology, such as, cell phones, PDAs, mp3 players, and computers. Additionally, the presentation will illustrate how augmented reality markers can be used to create an interactive lesson about the Atlanta Race Riots of 1906. The media projects final output will be a blog combining augmented reality, flash, video, and 3D models created using Google Sketchup.
lol, We didn't finish in time for the CRCT when I was in eighth grade, we didn't have enough time.

Glad to see a useful example of AR. I dig the narrative, very anchored Jasper'ish feel. My only critique is not so much of your implementation, but of the minimal use of the affordances that AR offers. Through your narrative you offered alot of active learning to happen, but many times AR turns very passive. If i ever find some free time I'd like to develop something similar. Best of luck!
