One of the great Rangers of all-time. He was the most exciting goaltender of his era, by being the beat skating and puck handling goalie of the original six and early seventies era. Too bad the Rangers did not win a cup with Eddie, as they came so close.

The absolute style master of goal tending so far, period, Ed Giacomin. Butterfly as necessary. Pad stack. the best and hardest shot, nearly scored goals several times - full respect to Crozier Sawchuk Glen Hall,Tony "o", Brodeur, Fuhr and so underrated Bill Ranford. And I am thrilled by how thoughtful Giacomin is - how can he not be interviewed more often? And the chant story? Beyond belief.

@skates89 So did I, Skate. Oh, how I cried. Worse, my father had tickets for that first game back at the Garden and he took my mother! I was heartbroken. I listened on the radio and cried all over again.

I watched hundreds of games with Giacomin and he was so active back there, coming way out of the net and kept us in many, many games. A great time and Emile (The Cat) Francis was a great coach who wasn't appreciated as he didn't win the cup but kept us a great team and when we fired him, the team went downhill. I'll always love EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE!

He was my idol growing up. I cried the day he got waived and picked up by detroit. Thank you eddie for helping me to love the game of Hockey. You where my hero
