I never heard of any vets being treated badly by "hippies"...those vets were our peers, friends & neighbors! They suffered in Viet Nam, & are still suffering. What PROPAGANDA! Unless they were the hardcore, warmongering kind of soldier who enjoyed the atrocities they were doing to civilians...now THEY caught some shit. THINK! Those soldiers were drafted--most of them didn't want to be there. You kids who form these lofty opinions on very little info or experience are driving me crazy.

It's a shame to hate any group of people for the actions of a few. We're talking in a lot of generalities, and that's never good for anyone. We're all individuals. Farloon...You speak garbage. At least the youth and people of the USA were not afraid to speak out against this war. We had a voice and we used it. Most protests were peaceful. We were not bought by Soviets. How many Viet Nam War Veterans do you know or have you spoken with? Did you know the National Guard shot at WWI veterans at the end of WWI when they built a cardboard village asking for their veterans benefits they had been promised? "Brother Can You Spare a Dime"?

I have a question: which in Corea would you like to live ? These guys came to vietnam and fought for freedom and dignity of those people. I agree that some did money on that war etc. I had a conversation with some veterans and the toldm that the worst was not the Jungle (most clashes our soldiers won ) but when in US some dirty junkies or so caled intelectuals shouted that they are children and women killers. If you were not bought personally but you were "useful idiots" as Lenin said.
