Sometimes we use kiwi instead of Korean pear instead :) for people who can't buy pear, use ripe kiwi!

guys guys... Asian Pear, Korean Pear.... they are both wrong. the correct name of that pear is Singo Pear. you can buy it from Costco. the reason it is wrapped in fancy Styrofoam is that pear is freaking expensive like $5 each.
And also that flanken-style cut is not common in Korea actually. that is Korean-American style. Some people believe that is originated in Los Angeles.

I'm Korean but does it really matter how he made the galbi? He put "Korean-styled" not "Authentic Korean" so calm your horses.
