Steve, do you have anything to say about american bass? I'm wanting an XFL 1244 at 1000 watts but I haven't totally made up my mind.
Attractive family :)
One question though, is this not damaging to your hearing when you're in the vehicle? Even short exposure at high decibels can cause permanent damage. While its true that lower frequencies do far less damage, it is probably doing something. My friend had a modest system in the 90s (300W on two 10" subs and 100w on the doors) is now losing his hearing at 40. He only had the system for about 3-4 years and it used to only hit low 130's.

@svtcontour he is losing his hearing from genetics or something else, not from that little system. Sorry bro.

@meade916 You sure? There are plenty of studies that claim that exposure above 120db even for short duration can cause damage. Mind you there has probably never been a study to test bass frequencies specifically... Anyway now at 40, he's got hearing loss and permanent tinnitus in his ears which sucks. Sucks for him :(

@svtcontour no way that 300 watt system from the 90's did that to his ears. I can slam my door shut and make more DB than his system probably did. Thanks though for the concern bro.

@meade916 You're right. Its impossible to hit in the 130's with a very modest system. Cant be done. Have fun and take care bro.

@svtcontour i didnt say it was impossible, just that 130 db of BASS wont hurt you and didnt hurt your buddy either. God damn the 90's were so full of car audio tall tales.
