Diagnosis of stronygloidiasis is mainly done by demonstration of rabhditiform larva of strongyloides stercoralis, a enteric helminthetic parasite, in stool. Adult worm measures 2-2.5 mm in length, lives in crypt's of Lieberkuhn in the duodenum and jejunum and lays eggs which hatch into larvae immediately. Larva passages in soil with stool and develops into filiriform larva that enters through skin of leg usually. This video was taken under high power microscopy. It can cause chronic diarrhoea and hyperinfection in immunosupppressed perrson e,g person getting steroid or cytotoxic drug or in terminal pregnancy.During superinfection it can be found in urine also. Treatment: albendazole 400mg twice daily for 3 days.
