Here's my short version of the Tech 21 SansAmp Character Series Liverpool demo. If you want a pedal that will cover the entire range of Vox amps from the early 60's up to today's versions, with or without a treble booster added for BM tones, then look no further. It's a little ripper!

  • Your video went viral on Andorra la Vella

  • @beverlybradley210 Great! I think. What's Andorra la Vella? Never mind, I'll do the Google thing. Thanks for letting me know. :)

  • I'm hearing clipping...please pay close attention to the clipping..it is the same with GT2, sometimes on the tri AC, why is this? This isn't normal right?

  • Nope, no clipping at this end. Must be your end. If there is clipping, it wouldn't be the pedal unless I was sticking +10dB into it (or something like that), it would be the input strip of my recording rig. But I can't hear any and you're the only person to suggest it.

  • Were you recording in a digital cave??? Going a bit overboard with the reverb, are we?

  • I would have thought a fan of "Gloomy, dense and atmospheric androgynous rock" would appreciate a bit of reverb. Thanks for all your contributions, by the way. :)

  • This video is a favorite on Nairobi

  • About 8 months ago someone poured beer into my voodoo labs sparkle drive and killed it at a gig. Since then I brought my liverpool pedal to my live setup as a lead boost in front of my marshall jcm 800. It works BRILLIANTLY in this context, adding a woodiness that the marshall simply doesn't have! I love my liverpool!

  • The clipping is unfortunate, as the pedal itself is great and your demo was very good.

Always remember the new mantra of the 24 bit audio recording age:

    "-6 is the new zero"

24 bit allows for so much headroom and so low a noise floor that you don't need to record anywhere near zero. It's not like the early days of digital when you wanted to get as close to 0 as you could get without clipping in order to get the most fidelity out of the samples.

Peak @ -6 when tracking and "normalize" after.

  • There is digital clipping all over this track. It has nothing to do with the Liverpool itself--it's either how hot the pedal's output was for your sound card or some problem with the codec when uploading it to YouTube. These pedals have a lot of weird gain things happening when you use the EQ and Character knobs--levels are all over the place (I have one and I know firsthand). One has to trim the output to the correct level after almost any EQ adjustment.

  • @Burgerman666 no way?? I swear there is clipping on my end, it's the same story with the GT2 I own, the tri Ac isn't so Bad, but the GT2 is just terrible. I have checked all te levels on my DAW and CPU it's all bellow 0db, so no clipping is visible, but it is audible. hmmmmm something weird is going on here...you sure there is no clipping on your side? please check again...
