Thomas Wendt of Integrative Concepts, Hamburg demonstrates the profiling of a 30 years old californian tube combo (courtesy of Mr. Thorsten Müller, Hamburg aka my neighbor) into the Kemper Profiling Amplifier. Special thanks to Mr. Marc Rohde (unrockbarfilm). We did this live, with flu and in one go! :-)

  • Another question: my bassist is asking if all of this also applies to bass amps. Logically i think it should but wed just like to make sure..

  • @rispsira - yes, any amp.

  • Hum, why asking why your guitar is plugged in the headphone output is considered as a spam !!! ?

It starts well if you have something to hide ! :(

  • @11Vuvuzelas Hiya, we just have changed the input and the phones jack over, sort of last minute, that's all :-)

    you guys are really alert!!!

  • hi! one question i have: in this video the mic goes to the aphex interface which of course is needed to record audio to the video. Otherwise can we hook the mic straight up to the profiling amp or do you still need an external mic preamp to do the profiling?

    Thanks!

  • @rispsira you'll be able to just connect a mic directly to the XLR input, yes.

  • An interesting concept although it does seem as though the profiling is simply using a convolution engine to capture the mic and cabinet & room. It seems that the distortion is created from within the unit itself so the home/studio user can have the same thing going on by using any modeller with the cabs switched off and then using an impulse of a cabinet run through a convolution vst.

  • Definitely one of these in my future. Question: Can it profile effects as well? If not can it be updated later? OK that was 2 questions...

  • The answer to the question: there are noticeable differences between the profiled amp and the profiler is: Yes. But subtle. I Bet a trained grammy award composer to recognize it in a recorded song during a guitar solo, impossible to tell differences in rythm guitars. But maybe there is still work to do if we are speaking about comparing ONLY the two amps.

  • When did Heston Blumenthal start playing guitar?

  • @TheOfficialGoomba ~1800USD

  • wenns wirklich gut klingt wärs das krasseste was ich je an innovation gesehen hab die letzten 10 jahre im Gitarrenbereich...

  • What's the price range looking to be?

    Anybody have any guesses?

  • @audiotrax2000 it can get pirated, which would make this business a loss

  • that is. awesome!
