Ricardo "El Maestrito" Córdoba VS Luis Pérez 3 / 5

Nicaragua destacó hoy "la cátedra de boxeo" ofrecida por el panameño Ricardo Córdoba, que venció por puntos al nicaragüense Luis Pérez y conquistó el título interino supergallo de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB).

En amplios titulares, el matutino El Nuevo Diario lamentó la derrota de Pérez la noche del jueves en el Centro de Convenciones Figali de Panamá, pero exaltó el trabajo del nuevo campeón mundial.

"Qué difícil fue para Luis acorralar a un rival que se movía con tanta agilidad en las cuerdas y el centro del ring, haciendo buen uso de la cintura para esquivar los bombazos e incluso amarró para sofocar la ofensiva más feroz del nica", señaló el rotativo.

Destacó que "en la mejor pelea de su carrera, Ricardo "Maestrito" Córdoba ofreció una cátedra de boxeo para ganar (...) sobre un Luis Pérez que jamás encontró la distancia".

El boxeador panameño superó a Pérez en las tarjetas por un amplio margen de 118-110 y 117-111, debido a su dominio del cuadrilátero, su inagotable agilidad y la potencia de sus golpes.

"Córdoba fue el dueño del ring desde que sonó la campana", señaló por su parte el diario La Prensa, en una crónica bajo el título de "Amaestrado" y en la que también calificó la actuación del panameño como "la mejor pelea de su carrera".

El periódico lamentó que el nicaragüense (con 25 triunfos y ahora tres derrotas) no hubiera logrado su meta de conquistar tres títulos en diferentes categorías, como lo hizo en los años 70 su compatriota el ex tricampeón Alexis Argüello.

El combate de anoche fue parte de una extensa cartelera en donde otros dos panameños triunfaron en el ring. Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno retuvo su título gallo de la AMB al derrotar por puntos al mexicano Cecilio "Fantasma" Santos, mientras Celestino "Pelenchín" Caballero venció por nocaut técnico al colombiano Elvis Mejía, en la misma categoría.

He got caught with a huge shot against Veronin who is a naturally bigger guy and a big puncher and he still managed to see out the round!!!

Yeah this is gona be a tough fight for Dunne. Strangely, they are like bizarre mirror images of each other: counter punchers, not too much power, very good jab, timing decent. I'm gona go with Dunne though and say he boxes out of his boots: a win on points, split decision or otherwise.

Oh yeah no bother. This guy has only lost once and is used to harder opposition than dunne. Did you see dunne against Voronin he was falling around the ring for a while. He ran out of energy

I can't see bernard stopping this guy anyway. Cordoba hasn't been knocked out before despite being in with big punchers. They both like to move in and out and make a boxing match of it- using their jab and counter punching.

But Cordoba is more polished with greater power so I'm going with Cordoba UD.

i wouldnt say leagues from watchin this video mate . you obiously havent seen much of dunne . cordoba is a differnet beast to the one who beat cabballero a few years ago anyway since he killed a bloke in the ring

listen...i know dunnes capabilities hes not top drawer but hes capable ...im just goin by what ive seen and in this video cordoba luks nothing special...he was caught cold with martinez ....its happened to some top fighters...pickering being brutal latewly is of the beating he received by dunne ...he was takin to school in that fight....have you seen the fight in thailand???if not then how would you know for sure

I'm not knocking done but get a grip please. Kiko Martinez smashed in up in 1. One of his best performances was against Esham Pickering have you seen Esham Pickering lately? Cordoba only defeat was when he was jobbed in Thailand. Seriously wake up the man beat Cabalerro
