Largest pyramid city north of Mexico.
Cahokia was the center of a pyramid civilization in the center of what s today called "The United States."
It was one of hundreds of such pyramid sites. It was also the largest of them all.
You can still climb the pyramids in Cahokia State Park.

Stop the none sense. When I watched westerns as a child, I never saw Black people killing US, taking our land, and calling us savages in the name of Jesus. Black people suffer just as we do, and just like us, they marry White people thinking by doing this, they are better. When I look at my so-called people today, I no longer see a "RED" Native American, I see White People and they are at the Head of the B.I.A. who determines who is Native or not.

I'd love to see it if some wealthy donors got together to put up the funds to rebuild at least part of Cahokia. I'm proud of the little cluster of humble thatch-roofed shacks huddled on a seaside hill in my hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts, built by my ancestors, and the descendants of the first Americans deserve to be able to likewise experience the magnificent city built by theirs a millennium prior.

@guerrero1106 - 'the united states is inhabited by the spirits of those native dead. the united is pretty much a grave yard buried under plastic and asphalt.'
- exactly. It's built on blood.

@Danyulel I am a non-indian who takes seriously what the US has done to the indian cultures of america. I feel, that until the govt. admits what happened was a terrible wrong & seeks forgiveness & corrects it as best that it can, there can be none that can be believed of america.

@TheMexicaMovement Amen. U said it. We can change this people. In order to get anything done in America, you've got to lobby. Contact state/local govt's, write gov/senators, etc. This is important history.

My concern is why don't the educational institutions teach us more about Indigenous civilizations? And how these people and adjacent civilizations through out the continent are interconnected whether by language, DNA, phonotypical characterizes, religion, culture, or art aesthetics?
rejectcomplacency 4 years ago 2
Because to do so would give us pride as Indigenous people of this continent. And this pride an dignity would result in us questioning the European-descendants' occupation of our lands. It would be a nightmare for the White people for us to wake up.
