  • Excellent upload !

Looks like some real nice smooth and consistant air ;)

Great camera work Murray - 5 Stars !!

  • I was certainly geting a lot of fun flying.... but I'm not so sure about the 'smooth & consistant' with about a 10kt variation in wind strength

  • very enjoyable to watch! like a 1st person flying :)

check the new Go Pro helmet camera (Full HD with 127º angle of view)

  • Yep GoPro are nice... mind you as they are helmet mounted I could only use it in the winter when it's so cold that even I wear a helmet :-)

  • bummer...I was travelling home from offshore on wednesday, now the weather is mince ! Maybe you can post a link to let us know when conditions are good on the Lomonds, as it is a bit of a drive from here.

  • Hi Alan, Lomonds (E&W) take all directions and a wide range of wind speeds with some of the low slope ridges (near the car parks) which are Ok to soar even when the main hill has 25+kts! I would say you could fly about 200+ days a year there!

I guess over the last 10years I've averaged around 250 days flying per year, PS A Lomond tops requirment is cloudbase >1400 ft

We've flown there on club days when the base of the hill is ABOVE the valley cloud 'islands' poking out of the sea of fog!

  • Well last year I was chatting to a one legged chap (about 75yrs old) on the hill top, he only took about 25 mins to 'walk' from the car park (1km / 300ft) which is about 10 mins more than it takes me when not in a hurry.

With the 4x4 I've had 85 year olds with one leg up our top drivable sites for tandem flights, launch from sitting.

  • East Lomond sounds great, can a mobility scooter get up the hike? ;-)

  • Hi Murray....Great vid..The new lenz and equipment are working out great !! Hope you`re buisness in Ireland is going to plan...but you better not be giving up our Scottish shore`s ...lol Regards from a Clyde dweller Ben.

  • I don't get bored with any flying... provided of course it has some challenge involved! :-)

Sites like Arbroath and the sites on the south bank of the Tay are handy when the hills are 'blown out', also 5mins to 20mins to drive... while our most versatile site, East Lomond, is 26 miles and 15mins hike to the top, flyable 360*!
