I'm still debating picking up melty blood competitively. Cons: It's been out for a long time, unsure how long Melty Blood will last, need to buy a ps2 and mod it and import MB: AA, need players to play with and willing to help out a beginner to the MB series. Pros: Incredible competitive fighter, a lot of fun, unique game, and I'm enjoying the manga.

Combination of both of the below answers.
You need a really old director's account, when they actually made you fill out applications to get director status.
I remember some friends of mine actually got rejected for it the first time they tried to apply.
