Limewire gets Shutdown

Besides being a source of copyrighted material which is why the Judge ordered its closure, Limewire is also a source of many prosecutions for unintentional child pornographers. David explains that inadvertently many young men will download child porn and be prosecuted with very stiff sentences.

I agree with the shut down. Unfortunately a little too late. This happened to someone very close to me and like he said in this video, if you try to fight for your innocence, they throw more charges at you. It wasn't worth the chance of going to jail for 20 years, so they took a plea of 3 years. Who in their right mind WOULD fight knowing there's a chance they'll spend the rest of their life in prison?

Why can't the developers just filter out all this sick garbage so we can still download music and videos and stuff? Im sure it's got to be possible to implement some kind of anti-porn firewall....or something like they do here on youtube to keep people from posting porn.

I couldn't agree with you more. Limewire is a quick way to end your life. It's generally seen impossible to survive such a horrific charge.

You are actually right with everything you say.

I searched for videos and music one day and accidentaly downloaded a movie with this disgusting stuff. I had a program called eraser to delete the file totally. There has gone 2 years since that, and no police has knocked my door yet. Still, i got a fright that i never will forget. So yes, limewire shut down, HOORAAAY!
