Jacksonville Mud Fest, October 8, 2011 - Get Ready!

Calling all adventurists in or around the Jacksonville, Florida area! The Jacksonville Mud Fest is October 8 and you need to join me as I compete in the 5K Mud Run.

The Jax Mud Fest is a 3.1 mile adventure race through natural terrain with a bunch of muddy obstacles. You can compete in the race as an individual or with a team. The Jax Mud Fest encourages participants to dress in costumes and the only wardrobe requirements are shoes that cover your entire foot. This event is designed for both casual fun seekers, competitive athletes and there's even a 1/2 mile fun run for kids ages 6-9. Kids and adults can both get muddy!

What separates the Jax Mud Fest from other mud runs is that it's 100% not for profit. All of the Jax Mud Fest proceeds will benefit the Boselli Foundation, a non-profit organization striving to help children living in at-risk neighborhoods on the Northside of Jacksonville. Don't know the Boselli name? Tony Boselli was the Jacksonville Jaguars first ever draft pick, played offensive tackle and some say will be a NFL Hall of Famer.

The standard registration fee is $40, but if you use the promo code "tshirt" you'll save $10 OFF today. Along with the registration fee, each mud runner who signs up will need to raise a minimum of $100 to benefit the Boselli Foundation. Think of it as a tax deductible day to play in the mud. Your accountant will love it.
