  • Senator Brownback is avoiding his 'Intl Romance Regulation Act', a law which declares that ALL Americans are guilty of rape and abuse until proven innocent. Now it is a felony for law-abiding Americans to communicate or even say 'Hello' to foreigners. How absurd! He partnered with radical Bahai feminists Tahirih Justice Center is sponsoring this draconian legislation.

  • Having faith in science is like having faith in observable, testable reality. You make it sound so bad.

  • I think you're trying to pretend that science -- which requires that you PROVE what you say -- is a religion, where proving anything is prohibited. Because of proofs, it doesn't matter whether or not Newton was also a religion addict. I'm as impressed with your "bible says air has weight" argument as I am by the Muslim who claimed "koran says true things about embryology."

  • put your money on science?.. i think you basically said you put your faith in science. may i use the dictionary. 1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. Oh and newton believed in the Biblical God. The Bible also talks bout"the weight of the air"amazing they knew air had weight.

  • anyone who says life begins at conception knows nothing about fetal developement

  • After all, it was *believed* that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, when in fact the data showed otherwise -- proof that belief should be set aside in favor of rational investigation and logical inference. This guy is the last person I'd vote for.

  • It's impossible to be objective, but at least by setting aside your religious convictions you can make room for compromise and somewhat less subjectivity in making decisions. Someone ruled by faith is inefficient to run this country, because that person does not go with what the people want or what the Congress wants, s/he goes for what s/he believes.

  • Luckily, science is not based on faith, otherwise we would be throwing out the data that doesn't match our beliefs. I would never vote for a candidate who is ruled by faith and not by reason.

  • Faith is truth? Why then are there so many thousands of different versions of it? I'll put my money on science, which gathers all of humanity's best tools for determining what is real. I notice that although there are all kinds of opinions on the number of gods that exist and what they do, there is only one view of the equations Newton discovered that tell us how gravity works. The were NOT found in somebody's holy book.
