i spent a good 2 hours last night making an elaborate vid of The Battle by the Strawbs and the assholes at UMG deleted it.....was quite proud of it...such is life.......agree with Hawkmoon about the 1st album but i think Moment stands up well

  • As u know this is from "Love Bomb Live" - one big complaint is that the track "Love Bomb" doesn't actually feature.

It's an excellent compilation of their live work...ropey quality, but that has to be allowed for as the original tapes were bootlegged. It's a double CD, so lots of stuff. Buy it! I would. Oh! I did!

  • Totally agree with you. "Moment" is one of rock's all time classics...but the rest of their stuff...forgettable. The band make it very plain...they were skint and their situation forced them to try to make commercial records...so I think they can be let off for some of their poorer stuff. Thank the Lord for "Moment" and this live stuff.

  • As for UMG...does that stand for Ugly Mother****ing Gits? So far I have had 5 vids shot down...it helps, I think, to avoid posting certain bands...

  • Still trying to track down a stunning live version of 'The saga of the frozen dog' which I saw them perform at the Fishmongers Arms in Wood Green once. Otherwise I agree that all the best of their work is on 'If only for a moment'.

  • I really enjoy all of your uploads; Gong/Soft Machine fan by any chance?

  • Thanks for this...i saw them twice but have no memory of how they sounded.....how do you rate the cd overall?

  • This is better than their studio work. It has dated better than the studio stuff, some of which sounds awful now. It is very much of its 'time' though. I like it.
