  • That is so cool whoever sent me the message. I remember them as Bob Seger And The Last Herd also. I did some work for Bob and his early band as a teen. in the sixties early seventies. I will be seeing Bob tonight in concert one more time. In Columbus

The message was from me, DooWopJoe, whose channel you are on when seeing this Jimmy Gilmer clip of "Sugar Shack." Hope you have a great time and hope Bob sounds great, too!

  • This song was always played in the years at a little club called The Sugar Shack. in Columbus, Ohio. When a band such as The Bob Seger System would take a break. This was the only song that would be played on the jukebox. A great memory.

I remember the Sugar Shack -- I attend The Ohio State University. I also remember Bob Seger long before the Bob Seger System. In the early days it was Bob Seger and the Last Herd.

  • Great memories...He introduced SS at a sock hop at Amarillo College when I was a student there. His sister lived across the street from me, and sometimes he and his band would rehearse in his parents' garage.

Wow! Too bad you did not have a movie camera back then and were able to capture some of that!

  • I bought that 45 when it first came out and played it over & over till I drove my mom nuts !! My Aunt was visiting at the time, she is now in her 80's as I am about 65. I think she must still know that happy song thanks to her teenage Niece back in 63 !! Thanks for the fun memories, I now have 18 grandchildren and I have posted this on face book so they know what their grandma was doing back in her teenage yrs. The Baby Boom years were the best !!!

  • wonderful years.....will never forget.
