Good news and bad news: While the number of jobs lost in August decreased, the unemployment rate has increased to 9.7%, the highest it's been since 1982.

  • i predict it will go to 9.8% next month, i mean who's hiring? look for another 250,000 to forever disappear

  • Jobless rate didn't "spike." The rate didn't "jump." It's been inching closer to 10%, having crawled, slowly to, then past 9%.

Other than being wholly misleading, everything she says is true, given you accept her hyperbole.

  • We NEED Palinomics RIGHT NOW for President Palin will KNOCK DOWN unemployment DOWN TO ZERO! Palinomics will save and heal this world economy for it has the DIVINE POWER and BLESSING of GOD HERSELF!

  • Gotta love it. Humm, the job loss rate is slowing, maybe because there are 10% LESS JOBS TO LOSE!!!

  • we need a green collar economy.

  • huh what happens in 7 days that will make bush's failure disappear?

  • Looks like the Messiah's policies aren't working. No kidding, anybody with an IQ greater than single digits knew they would never work.

BTW.....remember how the left Blamed Bush for 9/11 even though Clinton did NOTHING to prevent it under his watch. Well, the tide is about to turn.....In 7 days, Obama will now own everything that is wrong with this country. Ain't it grand how the libs own rules are now gonna be used on their savior?

  • Every objective economic indicator performs better under Democratic presidents than under Republican presidents. EVERY ONE.

GDP growth, budget deficts, stock returns, job creation, income growth, and on and on. All perform better under Democrats.

Republicans are just bad for the economy.

  • If the American mentality doesn't change, like in Scandinavia, promoting socall services and regulated capitalism based on innovation and needs, then America will never entirely come out of this recession.

  • The Americans have to understand that most of the job losses in this bad economy are also caused by the fact that America lost his competitiviness. These jobsare obsolete. America spent tons of money in creating jobs in non necessary things and futile things that disappear with the fashion of the moment than in infrastructure and the backbone for a future America.
