These are Emu Eggs, the Emu is native to Australia and is the second largest bird in the world. The largest is the Ostrich. These are fertile Emu eggs, which are prepared for incubation. Incubation can take up to 52 days and requires lower incubation temperatures than chicken eggs. A chicken egg hatches in 21 days. IF the incubation process is successful, you'll see a new video post in April 2008, showing the hatchling Emu. An adult Emu may stand 6 feet tall and weigh up to 150 pounds.

  • @ahieatzman Please look at my other emu videos and you'll see the entire hatching process... so to answer your question... yes, I do hatch them ("P

  • @HTCSWEOD So any advice you would like to give me? Mayhaps? =)

  • @ahieatzman Please visit my main website Fred's Fine Fowl

There is a Emu page for your viewing pleasure.... and I would HIGHLY recommend the Emu Farmer's Handbook.. Volume One and Two... find it on Amazon.com.... it's a great resource and if you are going to raise emus, you will need those books.

  • i just love the color! i want one :)

    what is the price range?

  • You can get fertile hatching eggs anywhere from $20.00 to $75.00 each depending on quality of breeding stock. Non-fertile, empty shells for decoration are various prices, I recommend that you check on auctions like E-bay. Thanks for commenting.
