Erik Leiken delivers another winning performance, placing first in the March, Straspey, Reel (MSR), grade one solo piping event at the Mount Tamalpais solo piping & drumming competition held at Piper Park in Larkspur, California. This annual competition is sponsored by the Northern Branch of the Western United States Pipe Band Association (WUSPBA).

Erik Leiken's reply to LSBSPB:

In a grade 1 solo competition pipes can't just be "in tune," they must be fine-tuned. This is a very temperamental instrument--and in ±80° weather in the direct sun, the tuning will change dramatically--so I gave my pipes some time to settle in so they wouldn't change too much while I played. Normally, I don't spend more than 2 minutes or so tuning before a judge. In more extreme conditions, it can take much longer for the tuning to settle.

Yes I know I am biased :-P but he does play wonderfully!! and it is worth the wait ! or you one can just fast forward to 5:10 ;-)
