...and he's DAMN GOOD! In 1956, Richard Bock recorded Gerry in a night-club (listen carefully and you can hear glasses tinkling) with Bob Brookmeyer on valve trombone, Bill Crow on bass and Dave Bailey on drums.Several numbers were recorded, but this is the COOLEST! Check out Gerry's fingerwork, Bob's lazy drawl, Bill's clean bass-solo and Dave's subtle drum-fills. West Coast jazz at its finest. And I transferred the recording (by wire) from my Rock-Ola joke box.
