Check out the premier Boy Scout camp in the nation. Located in Loveland, Ohio in the Dan Beard Council. Spend a week earning merit badges, enjoying the outdoors, boating on the lake, climbing the twer
The camp offers things for scouts of all ages. New this year is the ACE program which is for older scouts. They go mountain boarding, hydro-biking, kayaking/canoeing, hiking on Agony trail, and something else that I can't remember, lol. The trailblazer program, coupled with the handicraft workshop/ native american workshop makes a great experience for younger scouts. There are numerous merit badges to spark the interest of scouts in the middle.
@EvansvilleIceMen71, If your troop is not large, you will probably be sharing the site with another group, in which case, depending upon which group gets there first, you may not get the tree houses. However, the other site, Kroger, although is a farther distance, is a better option. It is a split site, A & B, but each has it's own shelter, and each has two tree houses plus a few tents. (and if need be, you could also set up additional tents.)
@EvansvilleIceMen71, I can answer most of your questions. They are not actual tree houses. They are called tree houses because they are built on slopes. They are raised off the ground, and the back window is about 8-10ft above the ground, and looking out, it looks like you're in the trees. There are 2 campsites with them. The first is daley campsite, and there are 4 there tree houses, each sleeps 8. The site also has lots of Tents.
. Our whole troop is thinking about going here and i was wondering if someone could comment how good this camp is and any one who has been to Roy C Manchester is it as good as that and the treehouse camp sites how many campsties have those?
My brothers went to camp here and they loved it I came and visited the last days because I'm a girl and I can't go until I am fourteen but this is an amazing camp my brothers climbed the devils elbow to! I thought the blob was the best part though!
Hah! went here (there) back sometime around when transistor radios were invented - or about to be. I don't remember a lake but I remember some of our guys sneaking over to climb "devil's backbone" which was off limits. in any case, thanks for the memories. 3 cheers for the boy scouts.
