@RAPTOR948 If anyone's to be blamed for Gomu=Gum, it's Viz. I have the first printings of the first two manga volumes (from before the 4Kids dub) and that's how it reads. Still, at least they make the distinction that he's a Rubber Man.

though sadly to 4kids' credit they must have had the meager intelligence to associate elasticity with gum, as bubblegum and chewing gum tends to have that elastic-like quality. I'm not defending the atrocious 4kids dub, I'm saying, even those morons must have made that connection. they dont give our children enough credit however in the intelligence department.

@MultiJustjack well the added sylibles are a common thing in Japanese to english pronunciation, like how in English we say "God", someone says God in English with a thick Japanese accent it'll sound like "Godo". kinda weird with the whole reference but hey, I played the G-Gundam SNES Rom and heard the pronunciation.

still, the 4kids voices SUCK.
