The Richards house is shown in the film, when it needed to be removed in later years, the top story was removed and the first floor, along with a new roof was moved to a site on South Main Street, where it remains today. I think the foundation being dug, in the movie, is for the Cliff Rogers building. My first recollection of the building was when it was a Variety Store operated by Frieda Bozeman. The building is currently the Three Sisters Coffee & Dessert Bar, 61 North Main Street.

I think I was able to change this one to play on mobile. Several of my other videos will have to have their audio changed because of copyright before Youtube will let me make available to mobile.

    Thank you,

    Jim

  • The local Historical Society printed a very good book about the history of Pickens County a few years ago. I'll try to find my family's copy and send y'all some information on it.

  • We are homeschoolers looking for the history of our new hometown in Jasper. It is really neat to see how "things used to be done." Thanks for sharing :)
