  • I didn't know Ronaldinho can fight like that..........

  • I practice Taekwondo and even I say this is crap. They had the Karateka perform a front kick. Everyone else executed their versions of the round house. HOW IS THIS EVEN A TEST????

  • @joelvis65 Most people learn respect for human beings as a result of growing up. I could go to the gym and get in good shape. And honoring what? Most people aren't stupid enough to want to fight. You don't need martial arts to be able to tell yourself "you know what, let it go". I concede the katas and the defense. In fact, that's exactly what I mean when I say "defense".

  • um guys.. i just found out the guy who demostrated the karate front kick simon rhee, turns out hes NEVER trained in karate, hes a 7th dan black belt in taekwondo and 4th dan black belt in hapkido, hes a grandmaster and a good martial artist but fuck! he has no experience in karate, for a 7th dan in taekwondo to produce a karate front kick of 400lbs has to be rigged dont u think.. we ve been scammed guys.. fight science has made fools of us all!

  • @td82394 martial arts IS about those things my friend, it teaches u respect for human beings, honor and most important any martial arts keep u in perfect health and shape all ur life, its a philosophy. take karate for eg, the katas, its not jus a dance it opens ur body up and permits blood flow to d otherwise inactive parts of ur body, and it teaches u rather not to show offense but defense.its not allabout fighting it teaches u to stay calm in a confrontation which sum ppl fail at doin

  • @bmx7596 Yeah, that's true. Sometimes, I think it's partially karate's fault that it's become so diluted. It preaches respect and honor and stuff, but really, that's not what martial arts are about. They're about self defense, pure and simple. You're right that a martial arts shouldn't have to be geared for combat. That concept even sounds stupid in my head as I think it.

  • @td82394 Yeah I agree with most of that. Haven't ran into any karate guys with decent skin conditioning though. They rarely want to trade leg kicks I've noticed. the thing with Muay thai is you really don't have to train specifically for combat, its comes in a nice package already.Obviously there are tons of bs diluted versions of it now probably.

  • @bmx7596 Okay, I concede that most karate schools don't train realistically. Actually, I concede that even 99% of karate schools don't train realistically. But when you realistically train karate, along with Muay Thai and boxing, ooh, boy. And honestly, I wouldn't want to hit somebody's elbow with my shin, either. Karate kicks can be with the shin, too.

  • @td82394 Well its used in mma bc really what other style could be used for striking at that level of closeness to real fighting? Can't use most other styles bc their bag slappers with their foot. Yeah, it looks good and sounds powerful in the gym I guess, but when you land it on someone's elbow then what? Conditioned shin ftw. Theres not always a step in either and the wind up is more a snap in real muay thai, you can fire repeatly pivoting.

  • @bmx7596 Um, Muay Thai has the most wind up of any style but Capoeira. You can always tell a nak muay apart from a karateka/tae kyon because the nak muay will always step, will always drop his guard, and will never chamber. Not saying the kick isn't powerful, but there's a reason most guys who kick get taken down in MMA. They don't study anything but Muay Thai. And Muay Thai is a great style, but you have to be REALLY good at it for it to not work against you in MMA.

  • The first guys on the movie `The Protector`with Tony Jaa.

  • well theres a reason muay thai is used in mma more, its more compact, looks deceptive and allows for more kicks to be thrown in a row. lol the other guys landing on the foot with all power. stupid.
