  • @snubbs741 .... Hi there Snubbs 741 , the problem with this video of mine is that there were many of the people who viewed it saying that this is Heavy Rock and not Heavy Metal . Me , I'm still confused whether I am right or they're right ... Anyways , great early 70s Heavy band ...

  • @Zepplica911 eh not that it really matters what you label it.. but this is total heavy metal!! and people gotta realize that back in the day, kids called this heavy metal..

  • I remember this well ! Post more !

  • Have this album on vinyl. Future Shock was a killer.

  • @borgdrama

There is footage of MC5 around the same time period with people head bangin in the crowd. I think the MC5 was more rock and roll but definitely had some early heavy shit happening.

  • I see the argument about old rock & metal all the time. Simply put, most old metal from the seventies is considered rock by today's standards. Hell, a lot of metal bands today are considered rock because of death & black metal. I like death & black metal, but there's all sorts of metal out there. I would call this early heavy metal.

  • @snubbs741 I would say this song is a ... bluesy hard rock, something like that. Some parts remind me of early Iron Maiden, but it's way too loose and groovy to call it a metal for me. Anything where you don't have tight drum beat and very precise guitar playing with lot's of palm muted gallops doesn't really sound too metal to me. But I'm used to all kinds of thrash metal bands...

  • @Zepplica911 I always listen for the beat and how the instruments go against each other rhythmically (drums & bass vs. guitars & vocals). Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple... I'd call all hard rock, like AC/DC and such. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica... some kinds of metal, followed by the more extreme ones like black and death metal.

  • i would say cream was first heavey metal band,as evidenced at their royal albert hall show in 68 or 69,theres footage of 2 audience members banging their heads, bet no other band b4 them induced that effect in the masses.
