That is because this game and Elevator Action is made by the same company, which is Taito.

I remember leafing through JoyStik magazine and reading the article about the people owning the rights to Tarzan hauling Taito into copyright infringement court over Jungle King, the original version of this game. Granted, the familiar-sounding yell did kinda give 'em away, but to me it seems more right to be at the center of a jungle story whilst wearing a loincloth (or at least leopard-print undies!) as opposed to some cockamamie safari-suit-and-pith-helmet combo.
