PARENTS PLEASE VIEW BEFORE SHOWING TO CHILDREN! Ben Starr, travel writer, from MasterChef season 2 introduces you to Puna: Hawaii's best-kept secret. From secret lava caves to the volcanically-heated Champagne Pond, a snorkeler's paradise. From the nude beach at Kehena to the hot spring at Pohoiki. From lava belching craters, to hidden waterfalls, all the way up to a snowball fight at the icy top of a dormant volcano. This is MY Puna. Aloha!

  • cant afford that kinda travel but thnx for the show!

  • @malacre Travel is expensive, but it doesn't have to be as expensive as people think. If you set a website like Kayak to alert you when there's a cheap fare, you can get to Hawaii for around $300 sometimes. The cottage we stayed in was $35 a night. Rental cars are VERY cheap because there's so much competition...around $150 a week.

  • Great tour of Puna! Will definitely consider traveling to it instead of tourist hotspots such as Maui or Honolulu!

  • @ericdjwesswat DEFINITELY! Puna was a wakeup call for me. Hawaii was just a lovely place to travel on occasion until I went to Puna. Now I can't imagine living anywhere else. Puna is pure magic!

  • I have to wait till the morning to actually express the greatness of this video!

  • @xHolyHandGrenadex1 Love your handle! That whole "holy hand grenade" speech is one of the most BRILLIANT Monty Python moments!

  • I would love to go travel. I was never able to when growing up, but I plan to make it a big part of my life!

    You're an inspiration Mr. Starr!

  • Ok, I'm not sure when, but I'm definitely going to rent a cabin here in some point of my life time... and you're going with me. :) I'll have a personal chef AND tour guide. ;)

  • @benthegrate You can count on it!

  • I see an upcoming tv-show, A Starr Abroad.

  • I didn't think I'd like this since it wasn't a cooking video, but I loved it. You're very informative.

  • Will you be going to Maui? I would like to see you there! :D

  • @Stabripbeef What a beautiful piece of writing! Thank you SO much for sharing. Yes, Hawaii is a striking place, different from anywhere I've ever been. I hope to see you in Puna sometime!
