After setting the world rail speed record last year, French manufacturer Alstom's AGV train is undergoing a series of trial runs in the Czech countryside before it is sold to international clients
Maglev is a good idea but in Japan only. Because Japan is a "straight thin" island, where cities are settled in line from north to south and mostly on the east side, so a straight maglev-road from Hokkaido to Kyushu would be perfect in this configuration. Whereas Europe is a continent, this means you need to have flexibility, and a multi-way network. I used to live in Japan in 2001 just after Maglev starts up, and reach France in 2004, so I know what I am talking about.
@alpacks Last thing for robertdigital : i think you speak of US project to have high speed train in california ? HST california have problem to finish the financial files to can buy train and high speed rail network ... but i think they can finish to gather all money needed ...
but you dream dude, california never can to finance a maglev Los angeles --> san francisco lol ... have an little idea of Coc's of a maglev with his line ? it"s a ruin !
@RobertsDigital Lol maglev fan boy don't think with their brain ... maglev can only run on a magnet road without possible connection with a classic railraod ...
maglev is just a gadget for dumbass who want to spent billion dollars without real capacity of railroad network connexion ...
a TGV or AGV can go on ALL railroad easily and go out high speed rail for classic rail raod (to make departure on city without high speed rail)
@asdf36254 Dude you need to back up your statement with some evidence. A video perhaps showing a maglev blowing the whistle so that i can believe in your story.
Pigs dont fly & dont tell me they do...except if you have seen one and can prove it.
@Sqaaak I thought maglev trains do have wheels that retract once the train reaches a certain speed. Without wheels, what happens once the train slows and comes to a stop, it skids along the bottom of the train?
Sqaaak i think you french people should start building maglev trains...
TGV does not impress anyone these days as most countries across Europe and America have similar TGV-like trains. Most people are more impressed by Maglev technology and are looking forward to maglevs in their countries..

Let's wait for the japanese to reduce maglevs cost and then we'll steal the technology off of them. Nothing to see here, move on.
