In this episode of Foreigner Perspective, learn from host, Steven Weathers, the best and cheapest way to have a custom three-piece wool suit tailor-made in Shanghai, China. Follow him through the South Bund Spinning Market and wander through the old alleyways where Shanghai's fabric market used to be in the past. Finally, meet Fatty, a tailor who can make a 3-piece suit for $45 USD. Are you ready? Let's go!

  • i don't think these suits stand up to their european counterparts

  • @varun009 Of course not, but they only cost as much as a European lunch.

  • I just got 2 suits and 3 dress shirts done at Fatty's. The quality and fit is excellent. Thanks for the tip Steve.

  • @what77777 Excellent! Great to hear it.

  • What is the name of the market pictured at 0:33? There's a leather tailor that I think is on the second floor that I'd like to get in contact with again.

    Thanks

    Tom

  • @Gadgets7777777 That's the "South Bund Fabric Market" 南外滩轻纺面料市场 399 Lujiabang Lu,

near Zhongshan Nan Lu 陆家浜路399号, 近中山南路. There's also a market outside of Shanghai just for custom leather clothing.

  • Your cool my friend very cool...:)

  • @MrKicks2010 im trying to avoid buying anything from china right now, they're becoming a serious threat to national security.

  • @varun009 go to savile row and buy a suit for $5k USD + is only practical if you wear suits on a daily bases and you are a high class executive. Cheap chinese suits are good for designing customs and old classic looks. There are high class suits in Shanghai as well such as ww chan. Dunno how good of a tailor fatty is, but I'm sure there are a lot of decent tailors in Shanghai.

  • @sdweathers that is true.

  • Does Fatty's make suits and send to US? Do you have email?

  • wow, I think I smell the fabrics!!
