The music here was recorded live at Comalapa, Guatemala. Most of the music is Mayan and it is worth watching just to hear the sounds. I would have filmed the entire 2.5 hours they played but I was low on film.

this isnt guatemalan music, this is something unheard of in guatemala, lo de guate es marrimba pero tambien se escucha tex mex durranguense nortenas y puntas pero esta musica que es no sirbe no es de guate!!!!!!!

Dude, this was filmed in Guatemala. The music you hear in the background is over pictures I took because it was filmed at night. All the instruments you hear were hand crafted in Guatemala by people who live in Guatemala and the music is performed by 4 people all born and raised in Guatemala. How is that not Guatemalan? The link you posted is of a synthesized keyboard... many villages I went to didn't even have electricity; hence no way of using such an instrument.

@vintageteg1 it's not wierd..it's that they see the amazing culture we have, many white people will never visit Ireland, England, etc.. but in Latin America they can see how different and unique yet connected we are in our beautiful ethnicity..we are blessed to come from such ancestors... :)

son musicos guatemaltecos, pero son melodias andinas, la verdad es que aca en guate las tocan muy bien... quiero inmaginar a un pueblo maya intercambiando arte con los incas... eso es cultura, arte de vida y naturaleza de paz. Eso no es invasion y robo descarado como desde hace 500 años los disfrazados de bondadosos europeos y en los ultimos años lo han hecho los yankes. No queremos que devuelvan nada, solo se llevaron cosas materiales... olvidaron que el alma no se roba.

esa es musica andina condor pasa y el carnabalito son hermosas melodias y aunque son tocadas por muchas personas en Guatemala y al rededor del mundo no es musica Guatemalteca deverias de cambiar el titulo del video

those instruments could be made in guat and the musicians could be guat, but that music isnt guat, guatemalan music is marrimba , mayan music has flutes and a drum and like a horn but it doesnt have guitars or other stringed instruments (that are clearly south american)and isnt played in that way, that music is southern influenced andean music, the national instrument of guatemala is marrimba, that vid might have had synthasizers, but might point was that marrimba was being played,
