Okay folks, there is an unseen step I perform that I decided to omit from this video, but has caused some confusion.

I left one chamber uncapped and seated the hammer on it. I only did this for carrying the gun around. When it was finally time to shoot the pistol. I placed a sixth cap onto the uncapped chamber (the unseen step).

If you watch, when I fired the gun, I fire six shots, which could only be accomplished with six fully loaded and capped chambers.

  • Can I ask you a question... I'm buying one of these within the next month, and the closest places that sells tradition revolvers Is the Bass Pro Shop, so thats were I'm buying mine. But your using #10 caps, but the redi-paks that are sold with this gun are #11 caps, is it ok to use either number of cap?

  • @LaxPlayer8796 #10 and #11 caps are only different in diameter. The #11's are too big for this pistol, but they fit on other models. It all depends on the gun you are buying.

  • Nice. Why is it people always use the thumb strong hand( the one that they use to pull the trigger) to cock the damn things, when they should use their weak hand thumb.I allows you to keep the same grip for all shots improving accuracy.Watch some of the CAS vids and you will understand.

  • @saltydog45 Never considered that before, but it makes perfect since.

  • can you load all six chambers and "gently" let the hammer down on the loaded chamber w/ cap ?

  • @svn43075 Of course you can do it, but I never would. No reason to tempt fate.

  • looks like your eating tree soup for the next week

  • Don't waste your money on a brass frame Colt replica. It WILL shoot loose after a period of time. The brass will stretch. You'll notice a larger gap between the cylinder and barrel then the wedge will become loose and finally the barrel can be wiggled from side to side. Spend the extra money for a steel frame. Also there was never a 1851 made in .44 cal., only .36. I've been shooting black powder since 1973 when brass frame revolvers like this was $69 and a steel frame $89

  • @1MANoftheSKY Ive never seen a 51 navy with a round barrel?

  • He killed a tree. Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy? :-)

  • @LaxPlayer8796 It may be too late, but I wouldn't buy a Traditions revolver. Save a little more money and purchase an Uberti. Much, much better.

  • @MUSICALGUNNUT45 No, that's a replica Colt model. There's very few makers of replica G&G's because it's so close to an 1851 Navy.

  • what kind of powder do you use

  • that tree is going to die if you keep ripping it up like that.

  • Dude, those 454 led balls really do some damage and I wanted to get this gun to match my 1858 44 model so I can go duel with them xD

  • Isn't that a griswold and gunnison?

  • Is that a Pietta Model 1851 Navy Confederate .44?
