This scene will always have a huge affect on me. It makes me feel humble for never having gone through such a trial, and grateful to every single person who ever served in any of the armed forces. And especially those who went through this kind of hell for our freedom.

Good point there, but it's just all guessing at this point. We'd have to experience all the trauma he had before, combined with all scaring shit at this battle. All so we see this stuff on tv etc. Most WW2 guys were just farmboys given a rifle and sent off to battle lol.

I know that, I would probably be scared too. To be honest though, if I could hear someone in the other room like that I would probably walk in and shoot him though, maybe not but I don't think it would take much to do that if you knew your mate was getting killed.
