Let's ask the Russians how to "Win" in Afghanistan.
Raise taxes and starting the draft will end these wars.
No pain no gain just more of the same.

Obama's plan was to pull out of Iraq, but he promised the exact opposite for Afghanistan very clearly since he was a candidate. Read the transcript on the first Obama/McCain debate. He clearly said he will send more troops to Afghanistan.

Well at least someone agrees with me.
I swear when I try explaining to people we are getting screwed over by war corporatist in government they always treat me like I'm a crazy conspiracy nut.
I can't imagine what Obama is going to say in his speech that will change the fact we cannot benefit from having a large military footprint in this region.
I wonder when Matthew Hoh is going to run for public office.

agreed. the COLD WAR wasn't a war. I served in NATO during the 80's. it was all BS to increase the arms, so gov't could make money off of weapons manufacturers. the Soviets tried to fight the Taliban and we gave the terrorists Stinger missiles. most Americans are too fucking stupid to know this .

He's not. He's gonna be just like bush and have us in another fuck up war for years to come. I'm not voting anymore unless I see some improyments from obama and so far I'm not seeing it. I wouldn't be surprise if unemployment goes up 20.8 percent down the road.

I've had it up to hear of all these dixiecrats and repping the pubic off fucks coming in office and fuckin up this country. People are out of work and he wants to add more troops. I see why Malcolm x was against voting. NOTHING CHANGES IN THIS COUNTRY!!!

When our CIA supported the Taliban covertly in the 80's their strategy was to draw the Soviets into a Nam style quagmire to help bleed out their resources and help us win the cold war.
Some say it worked well and helped support our goals.
How arrogant have we become that we are going down the same road.
We didn't win the Cold War, we just held out longer than the Soviets...
Now the empire is starting to come apart.

amen bigc
The American people don't have a say so. They never had a say so.
I remember that Anti-War march during the Bush Administration. The politicians forget...the majority of the American people want the troops home.
How hard is this to comprehend?

Hey, I've got an idea. Why don't we just bring our troops home and spend all that money back here in the good ole' U.S.
