I have a "modern" canon camera and also tried to film the moon . And got exact same image. Until I played with shutter speed,Wich gave a much better image .

And it is not the first one filmed on or around the moon!

Your point demonstrates that we cant be sure of the footage. However i would not take your point as fact regarding this video either. I have tried taking videos of the moon with my modern video camera at night and it gives results like this video.
