Thanks to Youtube. I have discovered all these great garage bands from the USA and from the 60's. What a musical treasure. This is the first time I to The Bad Seeds but absolutely not the last. I´m from the cold north part of Europe. My favorites from that part of the world was THE ZETTLERS. Check up their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". The recordings were made 1965. Unbelievable!!!!!!

The greatest garagepunk video EVER!
And from Texas of course!

Having grown up in Corpus Christi I remember the Bad Seeds and Teen Time very well. Some of the go go dancers were students at Carroll High School in the sixties. There were other great bands in Corpus Christi at the time: Zachary Thaks, Liberty Bell, Dell Starrs, the Kings, Pozo Seco Singers.

First saw this clip on the big screen at the Hollywood Theater in Portland Oregon, where it was featured in one of the Psych & Garage Bands Film Festivals put on by the great Jackpot Records store. It absolutely tore the audience to pieces. Superb songwriting (the bridge portion is too much and they do it twice!), a perfect example of how great this era and this band was. sonics65

Rumor I heard, some years back when I originally got a copy of this and "KIng Bee," was that it was never on "Teen Time" - they paid off the guy who hosted the show to record the films for promo of the Bad Seeds. Funny aside to that is the Go-Go dancer was supposedly the receptionist. Don't know if any of that is true, but both vids are great and the Bad Seeds stand out, even in the talent filled genre of Texas Garage Psych...

I'll always remember this video making the rounds back in the mid/late 80's garage scene...great track. I loved how the 60's garage bands behind the best tracks didn't have long hair or stripey trousers and beads...
Dave Shutt from Austin Texas is responsible for finding this gem back in 1983. he acquired this from the band's manager. I got an early copy from him after trading some sci-fi films he was seeking. Dave also uncovered the Zakary Thaks footage on 16mm film from Aug '68. See the entire story on the LP "Texas Reverberations" which Dave put out along with his partner as well as the ultra rare limited edition of 200 each "Flashbacks" vols. 1-6.
