Right. It's the oldest trick in the book--anti-gun nuts giving criminals guns just to keep them out of the hands of legitimate gun owners. What sets Obama apart as the most devious anti-gun nut to ever set foot in the White House is that he persuaded the Bush Administration to set the scheme in motion even before Obama announced his intentions to run for president! Your contention that lives were not lost under Bush's version of the program is false - that no evidence with tell-tale signs were recovered that we know of to make the connection, does not rule out the possibility. The absence of proof is not proof of absence. And under the circumstances - of placing guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels in Mexico as both Bush and Obama had done - the likelihood that they were used to lethal ends is multiplied. Ah, as to your assertion that Democrats not having "subpoenaed anyone...from the Bush program...to testify" about their culpable role is proof that "guns never crossed the border" on Bush's watch is ass backwards, if I may put it so delicately. The reason why Democrats haven't jumped on this like Republicans have is because their party is the one in political power in the Executive and hence has most to lose politically; therefore they would never throw their own under the bus to get to Bush.
