I think what the dad was saying is that the screen door had a cheap plastic lock but the actual door that the screen door was in front of had a deadbolt. That is what the confusion is, IMO. It makes sense, too.

When you look at the Geraldo show from tonight (still uploading) you will see the screen door which is a standard screen door which just has one of those latch locks on it. There is a solid backdoor also.

I agree Belted007, surely the kids would have been safer for 12 hours a day (especially overnight), with their mother, the girlfriend didn't know Haleighs details, it just seemed the dad wanted it all, even so, I'm heartbroken for them all.x

I do feel for the bio Mum as this must be hell for her. Considering she lost custody of her child because the courts decided that he was the better parent. I have no doubt he is a good Dad but what about letting a 17 year old look after your kids for 12 hours a day? How long has the dad known the GF for? ...too many questions to be answered once again
