In 2001, Don Barnett came to Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center after undergoing two years of treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia at another hospital.
He'd been given two months to live.
As fate would have it, Dr. Joseph Fay on the medical staff at Baylor had just begun doing experimental blood and marrow transplants on patients Don's age.
Don was a perfect fit for the procedure.
10 years later, Don is alive and well.
He recently threw a birthday party to celebrate his 10 years of survival and presented Dr. Fay and his team with a $10,000 donation to thank them.
In this video Don shares his personal story.
