The Meteor Monoplane was built in the early 1930's by Western General Aero Corporation in very small numbers.
The model, from a Traplet plan, is to 1/4 scale with a span of 96" and a weight of 21lb. This plan was chosen as it is designed around the Saito FA-325R5, which had been new in it's box for a while, and was a relatively quick way to get it into the air.
The video is of the maiden flight, not very exciting perhaps, and the Saito makes a glorious sound.

  • Isn't it always, or it seems so. When the engine is fully proven it is destined for a Jerry Bates Dauntless.
