This clip, the third of Philanthromedia's four featured speakers, is also from a Thursday evening event at Cooper Union, hosted by World Hunger Year (WHY) called Step up to the Plate: Ending the Food Crisis. LaDonna Redmond is the President and CEO if the Institute for Community Resource Development, a group that advocates for inner city community's right to food access.
Tracing back the history of American food consumption, Redmond made the point that there has never been an "ideal" system for how our food is produced, and that we need to look to the future for solutions instead of looking back to the past.
